Knowsley – Round 2 North Regionals

Knowsley – Round 2 North Regionals

What a race for the second regional of the year at Knowsley BMX track. Mr. Walker and the gang put on a great practice on the Saturday and a class run event on the Sunday. The Outlaws had a 15 strong team on show who all put 110% effort in producing some great results on the day.

6 and under 7 riders

Billy Wise took the jump up into expert having only done 1 North regional in the novice category. It was a big ask but Billy held his own and took a 3rd, 6th, 4th,4th. Giving him 4th on the day, leaving him 8th overall in the category with 94 points after only doing one round in experts. A superb result and a great achievement. Well done Billy!

Hollie Nolan had a stormer of a day taking three 1st’s in the motos and was unlucky not to take the win in the moto GP final storming down the back straight to catch the Derby rider to the line. Giving her the win overall on the day and voted rider of the day from the team! Hollie is sitting top of the table so far with 198 points. Well done Hollie!

Francesca Smith had a great day also taking 3rd, 2nd and 3rd in the motos and a consistent 3rd in the final. Franky sitting a close second place overall with 196 points, 6 points clear of the field! This track not suiting Franky as Crewe did the week before where Franky took the win. One each to our Outlaw girls, keep it up!

From here onwards the male categories are always jam-packed bringing two finals and in some groups semis, A finals don’t come easy!!
Billy-Neil McVicar maintained his superb performance from last week with a belter of a race coming home with 3rd, 3rd, 1st and 3rd in the A final. Sitting 3rd overall with 190 points really making his mark in the start of the season. With not even a year of expert under his belt and 4 novice races, this is outstanding work. Keep riding keep smiling Billy!

Joshua Gonzalez raced really hard in his motos taking 4th, 1st and 4th. Taking a 3rd in Semi’s to make the A final coming away with a cracking 6th place. Joshua showed great strength throughout the day and will keep getting stronger every race as his bike time has been little throughout the winter. Keep it up, Josh!

Joe Jamieson had a hard day in the office, his little legs not liking Knowsley track. Joe took a buckaroo going into the first berm in moto 1 and showed determination cranking back down on the pedals to take a 5th, 4th, 5th in motos and 8th in his semi. Clinching a 5th place in B final. Joe sits 7th overall with 154 points.

Tyler Anderson continuing with his outstanding performance took 2nd, 2nd, 1st in his motos. 2nd in Semi. After jumping too early at the start in last weeks final Tyler kept great composure on the day and took a great 2nd place in the final on the back wheel of first place. A North region win isn’t far from grabs. Tyler stands 3rd overall with 188 points.

Corey Nolan received massive credit from all the parents yesterday with nothing going his way on the mechanical side! Lots of effort from the team parents in the pits to get his bike back up to racing. Corey wasn’t phased even when it looked as though he wasn’t going to be able to race. Corey did great to take 3rd, 5th and 3rd in his motos with an unlucky semi took a 6th which took him into the B final and narrowly missed out on the win taking 2nd place. Corey sits at 9th place with 162 points. Great attitude Corey!

13 Female 13-14 7riders

Imogen Gibson showed no holding back and lots of strength all day, taking great positions 1st, 2nd, 2nd and 1st taking the win on the day. Bar to bar racing on the outside of the second straight, stayed strong in the berm to push to the lead down the third. Currently sitting 2nd in the 13 category with 196 points, 2 away from the top spot.

Freya Smith showed great determination throughout the day. Got a great start in her first moto going into the berm in second place had the bike wash out. Got back on the bike finished her race and continued the day with a dead leg, if the track isn’t hard enough! Taking 6th, 7th, 7th, and 7th. Sharing the 4th spot overall with 182 points. When Freya starts getting the confidence to go with the riding skills she already has, we will see a different lady!
Well done ladies.

Male12 22riders Cruiser 9-12/13-14 8riders

Ryan Musgrave gave an incredible performance racing two bikes, and I must stress on a killer of a track! He was consistent on his 20 taking 2nd, 2nd, 5th and 3rd in motos and semis. The final not as plane sailing getting a bad start got himself into third in the berm with a rider going down in front of him, and the riders bike went airborne hitting Ryan. Sideways hanging on to his bike off his pedals somehow kept it going to take a 6th. Giving him a 5th overall with 188 points 6 a drift from first place.
Ryan had the 13-14 category to deal with on the cruiser, but kept his cool bringing in 3rd, 2nd, 6th, and 3rd. Giving him a second on the day in his category, and with a 198 points top of his table.
Massive respect racing two bikes on that track it’s a leg buster!

Male 14 22 riders

Dan Cay missing Crewe and just returning from a skiing trip in France, done well through his motos 3rd, 4th, 4th. Tired legs and a busy semi gave him a 6th and finished the B final in 5th place. Currently sitting 25th but this won’t stay like this I’m sure!

Male 17-24 26 riders
Supercruiser 17+ 45riders

Chris Evans let the young guns know he was there! 4th, 5th, 4th in his motos, a 7th in the semi. Producing a steady 5th place in the B final.
Also another gluten for punishment Chris took to his cruiser for his first race. Taking great results in motos 3rd, 2nd, 1st, and a 2nd in quarters. With a busy quarter took a 7th which gave him a comfortable win in the B final, winning 30-39 on the day making him joint third on a 100 points. 11 races in total!!! Well done Chris

Supercruiser 17+ 40-44 category

Colin Anderson eased his way through in motos with 5th, 3rd, and 3rd. Couldn’t grab the cut in the quarters with a 7th. Improving on Crewe’s results getting into the C final and grabbing a 4th. Giving him a 6th on the day in his category, and he is currently sitting third overall with 184 points.

Vets 40+ 24 riders

Neal Gibson rode outstanding all day, putting the pressure on the pack through out his motos. Taking 7th, 8th, and 8th, the pedally track not let him get the bite on the riders as he did at Crewe, can’t wait to see him back on the technical tracks where it’s about skill and guts! Currently sitting 15th in his category with 134 points. Keep a watch out for his telly appearance, I will post when it’s on.

Great racing guys let’s keep it fun and fast
